Human Collaboration
Build trust, take a role, listen to others, work through disagreement, and help a group move forward.
AI can support a team. It cannot build human trust for you.
MASTER AI. STAY HUMAN.
GrowMate is an after-school Human Skills PBL program for ages 6–17. In teams of four, children take on interdisciplinary real-world projects through GrowLoop™, while mentors use HEART™ to help them grow in how they work with others, communicate ideas, turn plans into action, manage themselves, and think independently. What mentors observe in each project helps guide what each child practices next.
The Problem We Solve
AI tools will keep changing. The technical skill that feels urgent today may look very different in a few years.
What lasts longer is a child's ability to think clearly, work with other people, communicate an idea, act on a plan, and recover when something does not work.
GrowMate™ gives children repeated practice with those abilities through real projects and real interaction.
The HEART™ Framework
HEART™ gives us a simple way to name, observe, and discuss the abilities children are practicing.

Expression & Communication
Explain an idea clearly, understand other people, ask for clarification, and adapt to the audience.
AI can polish words. A child still needs a point of view and a voice.
Action & Problem Solving
Define the problem, make a plan, start, adjust when needed, and take responsibility for the result.
AI can suggest options. People still have to decide and act.
Resilience & Self-management
Manage emotions, stay steady under pressure, recover from setbacks, and build better habits.
A reminder app can prompt you. It cannot do the hard part of recovering for you.
Thinking & Creativity
Ask useful questions, judge evidence, shift perspective, and combine ideas in new ways.
AI can produce answers. Children still need to judge what is worth asking and trusting.
How It Works
Inquire
Start with a real question and look for evidence.
Design
Choose an approach and make a workable plan.
Create
Make something and learn from what happens.
Revise
Get useful feedback and improve the work.
Present
Explain the work to a real audience and take questions.
Reflect
Name what worked, what was hard, and what changed.
What Makes Us Different
| GrowMate™ | Academic Tutoring | Coding / STEAM | Extracurriculars | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Main focus | Human core competencies | Subject performance | Technical skills | Interest-specific skills |
| How children work | Real projects and small groups | Lessons and practice | Skill training | Practice and performance |

Three Pillars
Each month begins with a real driving question. Children investigate, make choices, build something, revise it, present it, and reflect.
Each child works with a small group of same-age peers. They share progress, give feedback, and learn how to work with other people.
Mentors guide the process without doing the work for the child. They ask questions, notice behavior, and help children reflect.
Who It's For
Ages 6-9
Hands-on projects with clear structure, familiar topics, and room for curiosity.
Ages 10-13
Projects reach into the community and give children more ownership, feedback, and responsibility.
Ages 14-17
Larger questions, more independence, and mentors who step back into an advisory role.
Phase 1 · Now Enrolling
We are starting with a limited first cohort so the groups stay small and the program can be closely supported.
